Wadhurst Runners is a small, friendly running club, formed in 1999 to cater for the needs of local runners. We welcome as members those who wish to run competitively – as well as those who wish simply to maintain a level of fitness.

- Wadhurst Runners is a small, friendly running club, formed in 1999 to cater for the needs of local runners. We welcome as members those who wish to run competitively – as well as those who wish simply to maintain a level of fitness. From small beginnings the club has grown to just over 50 members – enough to ensure that runners of all standards and both sexes are well represented. Whilst many of our runners have their own personal targets – be it maintaining a basic level of fitness, completing their first race, improving their personal best in a range of events such as the London Marathon, or running in the friendly, but competitive, Sussex Grand Prix series of races. In addition, of course, our members enjoy and benefit from the camaraderie of running with others on our weekly training runs The Club is represented in the Sussex Grand Prix Series of races, covering distances of from 5 kilometres up to 20 miles. The club has participated with distinction in the series and we have a proud record of achievement usually finishing well in the year end league table.

I agree with phrase "Running is not just for the young". Marathon brought me lots of friends of various ages. There are lots of runners who began running from 40's and continue to run 60's or 70's in Japan as well. In the last weekend race, the eldest runner was 90's... I will translate this article into Japanese to cheer my friends up.
Aiko is growing to be a friend of Wadhurst Runners. We would therefore like Aiko to accept being an Honorary International Member representing runners in Japan.

We are grateful for your acceptance as an Honorary member. One day your travels will get you to England. If so we will be delighted for you to join us for a run. We will arrange travel from London.If you have Google Earth, you will see where we are based at the School known as Uplands Community School which is just 1 kilometer from Bewl Water (a large reservior) 60 kms South East of London.

I notify you when I visit England!! I am really happy and looking forward to running with you all;-) I downloaded Google earth immideately and searched the school. Wadhurst has lots of green! To run in beautiful scenery must be lovely...!
